The WVU Portal accesses your WVU (MIX) email account, DegreeWorks, financial aid and more. Academic advisers and units may use MIX email exclusively for communication.
To log in to the WVU Portal, you must first claim your account at (you only need to do this once). After claiming your account, log in at .
Upon your admission, your college transcripts are reviewed. In your , go to DegreeWorks to see your courses that already have equivalencies and courses that may need submitted for review. If you have NOEQs, submit a for each course.
Please directly connect with your academic adviser about your credit evaluation. You may also receive a transfer credit evaluation email from the Office of the University Registrar to your MIX email.
To register for your first semester at WVU, you must meet with an academic adviser by email, phone or in-person. Only your adviser can lift your registration hold for you. To get started, contact the transfer academic adviser for your college/school or program.
We encourage all students to submit the FAFSA and use our school code 003827. The FAFSA is required for Federal and State aid programs.
There is no separate application for transfer merit scholarships, but you must be admitted by August 1 for the fall 2025 semester for scholarship consideration.
You can review, accept or decline aid through the WVU Portal if you receive an offer, or revisit if aid is adjusted. Acceptance of scholarships and aid is non-binding – you forfeit your award if you cancel your application or attendance.
Students who plan to live in a WVU residence hall and/or participate in an Adventure WV Trip are required to pay the academic deposit.
The academic deposit is fully refundable if you submit the by May 1 for students enrolling in the fall term and December 1 for students enrolling in the spring term.
If you are transferring fewer than 24 credits: Apply for housing in a residence hall. WVU has a .
Transferring with 24 or more credits? You’re not required to live on campus and may choose from University Apartments, off-campus housing and residence halls.
Everyone living in campus housing is required to purchase an on-campus student dining plan. Commuters and those living off-campus have the option of purchasing an off-campus student plan.

All students enrolling in 6 or more credits are required to have health insurance coverage. You will be billed for the WVU Aetna health insurance plan unless you opt out by completing the student health insurance waiver.
The fall 2025 insurance waiver opens June 1.
When you complete all courses at your current college/university, request that your current registrar forward us an updated official transcript showing your final grades. The WVU Office of dragon tiger casino will accept official transcripts from your college registrar via Parchment, E-Scripts, National Clearing House or officially sealed envelope mailed to:

In early July, your 2025 fall semester charges will be available in WVU MyAccount (via WVU Portal). If you owe a balance, you will receive a billing notification in your MIX email. Payment is due August 1.

Welcome home! If you are living in a WVU residence hall, details for move-in will be sent to your MIX email. If you are living off-campus or in University Apartments, contact your property manager for move-in information.

Our optional Adventure WV First-Year Trips are peer-led, adventure-based programs that will prepare you for life at WVU. All trips take place in June, July or August. Registration is first-come, first-served for admitted students who have paid the academic deposit.
You must pay your academic deposit before registering.
You are automatically considered for WVU scholarships if you were admitted as a transfer student by August 1 for the fall semester and January 2 for the spring semester. You should also investigate other scholarship sources to help fund your education.
